This report covers the latest initiative of EPSF at FUE:
Title: Blood Donation
Date & Time: May 6, 2015 from 1:30 to 4:00 pm
Number of Participants: 56 students
Event Details:
• On the above-mentioned date a “Hepatitis C Virus” (HCV) session was scheduled to be offered; alongside this offering, a brief “Blood Donation” session was included in the event. To overcome time constraints, both sessions were combined and offered during the same event; this combined offering attests for the originality of the EPSF.
• Ms Heba Mohamed, responsible the Public Health Committee, gave the “Blood Donation” presentation that covered a variety of issues, namely: the importance and benefits of donating blood; in her treatment of the former, Ms Mohamed believes that a drop of blood could save a life which is in accordance with the motto of the session: “a drop of your blood … another life’s survival”. Ms Mohamed also explains the benefits that occur to a blood donor stating that they are substantial; blood donation increases the functionality of the division of blood cells more than the usual rate. Moreover, donating blood is a clear-cut statement certifying that the blood donor is free from any virus or health hazards. The presentation ends with an explicit statement indicating that the first and foremost intention of this presentation is creating awareness and not collecting the largest number of blood bags.
• The presentation ended by a Q&A session.
• The participants accepted their assignments and then left.
