FUE Educational Factory

FFIT is an Educational Pharmaceutical Factory aiming to provide the pharmaceutical community with highly qualified and well-trained graduates through conducting both curricular and extracurricular courses in the field of industrial pharmacy. The factory also contains research units equipped with high quality instruments and machines to support postgraduate students to proceed in their research easily and efficiently.

Supporting pharmacists at the area of manufacturing pharmaceutical preparations to make their career successful by offering specific academic literatures, practical training, and career-related counseling.

Factory Structure :

The factory is located at the bedroom floor of Faculty of Dental medicine. The total area of the factory is 460 m2 that is divided into 12 rooms to serve as:
  • Three postgraduate research labs (one Nano-spray dryer lab, two fully equipped research labs that serve the postgraduate studies in the fields of pharmaceutical technology and pharmaceutical chemistry).
  • Room for tablet compression and capsule filling machines.
  • Room for liquid and semisolid filing machine.
  • Student lab for conducting undergraduate’s practical sessions and summer course training.
  • Lecture room.
  • Two raw materials storage rooms.
  • Room for packaging and storage of promotional products.
  • Office room.
  • Lockers room.

Activities :

A. Curricular Activities:

Conducting practical classes of the following curricular courses of:
  • Quality Control and Quality Assurance Course (PHT 529). Simulation of different types of tablet manufacturing techniques and quality control of solid dosage forms.
  • Quality control of pharmaceuticals (PT010).
  • Industrial pharmacy (PHT 517).
  • Dermatology and cosmetology (PTE004)
  • Pharmaceutical Technology (PT 708).
Student Graduation Projects (PGP617):
  • Participation in supervising the practical and theoretical part of some student graduation projects in cooperation with the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology.
  • Preparation of the required amounts of pharmaceutical products needed by the Department of pharmaceutics for practical sessions.

Participation in scientific projects and research that published in international periodicals with high impact factor.

D. Community Activities and Promotional Campaigns:

  • Newcomers’ welcome campaigns: Promotional products were prepared and distributed as free samples to the newcomers.
  • Future International Conferences on Pharmaceutical Sciences: Promotional products are prepared and distributed as free samples to the attendees.
  • Different Social Events in campus and outside FUE: Promotional products are prepared and distributed as free samples in the different social occasions inside or outside FUE as Council of University Presidents, Edugate conference, Youth Welfare Department and the different social and medical campaigns organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy and the University.
  • Participation in the international schools’ events arranged by FUE.

E. Campus service

  • FFIT supplied the FUE whole campus with liters of hand sanitizing gel for domestic use inside the different faculties of the FUE campus.
  • WHO-recommended Hand Rub, and moisturizing Hand cream are specially prepared for the labs and clinics at Faculty of dental medicine.
