  • Adel Sakr

    Prof. Dr. h.c. Adel Sakr is Board of Trustees Chair Assistant for Graduate Studies, Research and International Affairs, Future University, Egypt. He is Emeritus Distinguished Chaired Professor of Industrial Pharmacy & Pharmaceutics, King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA and Emeritus Professor of Industrial Pharmacy and Pharmaceutics and Emeritus Director of the Industrial Pharmacy Graduate Program at the College of Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, U. S. A. He received his Ph. D. in Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K. He has held leading academic and industrial positions in Egypt, England, Germany, Puerto Rico, the United States and Saudi Arabia. He has advised more than 120 graduate students who presently hold leading position in academia and industry all over the world. Dr. Sakr’s primary areas of interest include the design and optimization of immediate and extended release tablet formulations and manufacturing processes. He has published more than 160 full research papers in leading national and international pharmaceutical journals. In addition, Dr. Sakr has presented more than 450 original and/or invited workshop/symposium/podium/poster presentations to national and international meetings. Dr. Sakr is a member of Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society, the Controlled Release Society, American Pharmaceutical Association, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, International Federation of Pharmacy, Society of Cosmetic Chemists and American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He is on the editorial boards of Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, Die Pharmazie, and Die Pharmazeutische Industrie. Dr. Sakr is an elected Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and Graduate Fellow of the University of Cincinnati. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award of the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Sakr is awarded DOCTOR HONORIS CAUSA from Gr. T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iasi, Romania. Dr. Sakr is Emeritus Congress Chair, FIP-Industrial Pharmacy Section, the recipient of the 2008 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists Outstanding Educator Award and Egyptian Pharmaceutical Society Gold Medal for distinguished scientific achievements. Dr. Sakr is an elected fellow of the International Federation of Pharmacy (FIP) and the recipient of the 2011 AAPS Research Achievement Award for Manufacturing Science and Engineering. ... Read more
