Future University in Egypt Hosts Scientific Session Exploring the Neurochemistry of Human Attachment
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Future University in Egypt (FUE) proudly organized a scientific interactive session titled “Decoding Human Attachment: Where Pharmacology Meets Neuropsychology” on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the University Theater. The event brought together approximately 120 faculty members and students, creating a vibrant academic environment dedicated to exploring the scientific foundations of human emotions and interpersonal bonding. The session focused on examining human attachment and emotional connection from a pharmacological and neuropsychological perspective, emphasizing the biological and chemical processes that shape human behavior. Through an evidence-based scientific approach, the session explored love and emotional bonding as complex biological phenomena driven by intricate neurochemical interactions involving neurotransmitters, hormones, and neural pathways. These insights directly relate to the academic disciplines studied by pharmacy students, highlighting the interdisciplinary connections between pharmacology, neuroscience, and psychology. The session featured engaging and interactive lectures delivered by distinguished academics, including Prof. Hanan Al-Abhar, Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and a scholar recognized among Stanford University’s World’s Top Scientists, and Dr. Mai Selim, Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Biochemistry. The speakers provided valuable insights into the biological mechanisms underlying emotional attachment, fostering thoughtful discussion and encouraging students to view pharmacology within a broader scientific and human context. The event witnessed high levels of engagement and interaction from attendees, reflecting the strong interest among students and faculty members in interdisciplinary scientific topics. The session successfully contributed to enriching scientific knowledge and promoting academic dialogue within the university community. This initiative reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy’s ongoing commitment to advancing scientific awareness, encouraging intellectual curiosity, and connecting pharmaceutical sciences with real-world human experiences.
